Staff at Bispham-based ready meals manufacturer, Laila’s Fine Foods, held a curry and jeans day today to raise money for a local young people’s charity.
Employees took part in the event at Laila’s Fine Foods on Friday, September 30, which was organised by Commercial and Technical Director Zera Remtulla to support Aspired Futures, a Blackpool based charitable organisation that provides long-term, life-changing therapeutic services for vulnerable children and young people many of which are from chaotic family backgrounds where poor mental health, addiction, learning difficulties, domestic violence and poor parenting skills are the norm.
The fundraiser generated vital revenue for Aspired Futures and Managing Director, Laila Remtulla comments: “The day was a success with people from all areas of the business getting involved and donating, enjoying the curries and wearing casual clothes whilst supporting what really is a worthwhile local cause. As a business we wanted to show our support to a charity that helps to give an opportunity to so many local children and young adults, supporting them to overcome their personal challenges whilst empowering them to experience and establish the skills they need to improve their own life-chances.”
