Description

Laila’s Fine Foods are a successful, family run manufacturer of chilled and frozen ready meals for the UK retail and foodservice sectors.  Having recently spent over £7m on a state of the art factory extension that has increased our production capacity, we are looking to add a first-class Purchasing Administrator to our team – strong administrative skills are essential.

Duties will include

  • Supporting the Purchasing Director with the overall procurement business strategy
  • Sourcing new products and negotiating with suppliers to secure the best deals
  • Analysing past sales and raising orders with suppliers
  • Attending supplier meetings (both internally and externally)
  • Liaising with suppliers regarding deliveries (and late deliveries)
  • Contacting suppliers regarding credits for damaged products or items missing from deliveries
  • Booking in deliveries from external suppliers
  • Setting up new products on internal inventory system
  • General stock management and liaison with internal departments

Experience/Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Microsoft office and some experience of Excel Spreadsheets
  • General commercial awareness
  • Clear, confident telephone manner
  • Experience as Purchasing Assistant or Junior Buyer are desirable
  • A Level standard of education and/or purchasing qualification would be advantageous
  • Experience as Purchasing Assistant or Junior Buyer are desirable but not essential

  • Good communication skills with some negotiating experience
  • Analytical approach with attention to detail
  • Enthusiastic and driven, with a desire to learn and progress
  • Ability to work independently, can use own initiative when required
