Two New Faces Join Management Team

David Hannah has joined Laila’s having worked in production management roles in the food manufacturing sector in a career which saw him progressing over a 20 year period with Burton’s Foods.  In his new role, David will be the senior manager on site during the night shift and will be responsible for the safety, discipline and effectiveness of all night staff, ensuring that all KPIs are met regarding achievement to plan, waste reduction, TOS, safety and hygiene.

David, who has worked in the food manufacturing industry since leaving school in 1985, brings with him a wealth of experience and has enjoyed get stuck in to his new role commenting, “Having worked for Burtons for so long I have been aware of Laila’s, followed their growth over the years and have always been impressed with the way that the company has established itself as one of the leading food manufacturers in Lancashire.  I feel that I am joining at an exciting time and feel that I can bring production management skill to support the business at a crucial stage.”

Nicola Trafford also joins Laila’s to lead the Technical team and brings with her over 10 years’ experience of Technical management within the food manufacturing industry, extensive knowledge of HACCP & food safety and experience working with all the major retailers in a technical and development capacity.

Zera comments, “Nicola has previously worked for several respected food manufacturers in the North West across a number of different food types however what was important for us is the experience she has of designing and implementing HACCP plans in the chilled and frozen sector. We are delighted to have her on board and she will be supported by another lady, Julie Holroyd, who will be joining us in March as Technical Compliance Officer, at a time when we are moving in to the new factory and launching a number of new products.
