Production Operative

The Opportunity

Due to unprecedented levels of demand for chilled and frozen ready meals given what has been happening recently we are looking to appoint a number of production operatives to join our business on the rotational day shift.

Your Experience

Ideally you will possess food production experience in a factory or production kitchen environment and be looking to join a business where you can play a key role in keeping the food supply chain going at a very important time. However experience is not necessary as full training will be given.

You will have health & safety awareness and relevant qualifications such as Food Hygiene, Food Safety etc. are highly desirable.

A high level of enthusiasm is essential as you will have the opportunity to quickly progress within the company as the business continues to grow.

Main Responsibilities:

Working on a production line as part of a team to ensure all product components are present on the line for portioning and ensure the line is fed with products which meet specification to maximise the efficiency of the production run.

This is a fast paced role where you will be working as part of a dedicated team to produce and pack chilled and frozen ready prepared meals, working to a high level of accuracy to meet production targets.

You will monitor product quality – raising any issues to the Production Manager, whilst ensuring health & safety standards are maintained for production processes and equipment.

We are looking for PERMANENT staff to work 07:00 – 15:00 one week 15:00 – Finish the following week predominantly in the High Care Area and Packing areas, the working day will be one week Monday – Saturday whilst on the early shift, the following week Monday – Friday on the late shift.

The reason we say finish when on the later shift is that due to the nature of our products, short shelf life chilled and frozen ready meals, meaning that whilst on the back shift you will have to stay until the days order has been produced, average times for this can be between 23:00 and 03:00am.

This is a full time position working directly for Laila’s. Ideally people with line experience within the food production industry would be preferred but this is not essential as full training will be provided.

  • Candidates will be expected to pack and sort product at a fast paced busy production line.

– Supporting the Machine Operators to ensure no production down time- Packing & General cleaning and tidying of your work area will form part of your job role.- Ensuring Health and safety policies are followed correctly.- Driving licence preferred but not essential- Food Hygiene Certificates Preferred but also not essential.- English & Maths Essential.
