Logistics Manager

Laila’s Fine Foods is a leading, independently-owned manufacturer in the chilled and frozen ready meal market, specialising in developing private label products for some of the UK’s best-known foodservice organisations and grocery retailers including Iceland and Lidl who sell our products to consumers under their respective retail brands.

The Role

We are looking for an outstanding Logistics Manager to take over responsibility for the management and delivery of our factory logistical service, keeping costs to a minimum and ensuring compliance. You will review existing working practices within the factory and third-party logistics companies. Championing change, you will propose and implement improvements in terms of organisational and operational efficiencies.

Other key responsibilities of this role will include:

·Receiving and processing daily orders

·Building strong relationships with customers/retail partners

·Drive improvements of ways of working and work alongside Purchasing, Planning and Production departments to deliver efficient inbound and outbound processes

·Work closely with external logistics partners to investigate and resolve issues

·Drive cost and sustainability initiatives to improve performance and efficiency of the warehouse and logistics

·Ensure a structured continuous improvement approach based on the application of LEAN tools

·Develop, motivate and engage people in the delivery of the Factory and Supply Chain priorities

·Provide export documentation when required

·Manage stock on an offsite storage facility

·Manage and analyse daily and weekly stocks

The Candidate

To be considered for this important role within our business, we’re looking for candidates who have successful experience of logistics within FMCG. Experience of LEAN principles would be beneficial.

You will have strong interpersonal skills and be able to influence and offer challenge to achieve great results. Coupled with this, you be results focused, passionate about continuous improvement and be able to implement change.

It is important that you are able to work well under pressure, and are able to methodically plan your workload. Strong IT skills and Excel are also essential.
