Iceland and Laila’s Fine Foods Oriental Chicken Penang has won in the Frozen Ready Meals Category at the Quality Food Awards 2016.
Iceland and Laila’s Fine Foods Oriental Chicken Penang has been awarded category winner within the Frozen Ready Meals section, at the Quality Food Awards, presented during a prestigious event at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.
Sales and NPD Director, Rishma Remtulla comments, “Working alongside Iceland, this has been a real team effort as we have worked hard to source the finest ingredients and develop a great product. Making chilled and frozen ready meals for the retail and foodservice sector all of our products are cooked in small batches using artisan methods that have been developed from when Laila first started the business in her kitchen 30 years ago.”

In a successful night for the manufacturer, Laila’s Fine Foods was also rated Highly Commended in the Frozen Ready Meal category for their Iceland Indian Empire Pie with Managing Director, Laila Remtulla commenting, “We are delighted to have won a Quality Food Award. Quality is the most important factor that we strive to ensure when meals leave our factory and feedback from our customers is extremely positive. We are glad the judges thought so too.”
The awards recognise the increasing demand for quality own-label and branded ranges at affordable prices in the retail and catering channels.
